In recent years, vocal bands have grown popular in the West – a pleasant surprise to many instrumentalists. In Taiwan as well, the Art of Contemporary A Cappella-Vocal Band has flourished under TCMC’s effort to promote the art form. This year, TCMC has invited “Les Grandes Gueules” from France and “Triu” from Austria to perform in Taiwan. These vocal bands, celebrated across Europe for their excellence, bring fresh ideas and learning experiences to Taiwan. Their performances also testify to the unique and timeless beauty of the human voice.

2012/8/7 Tribute to Maestros In 2012, TCMC presented a concert of Chinese classical poetry newly set to choral music. Works sung include winning entries from a songwriting contest held by the Hanguang Education Foundation – rearranged by TCMC – and pieces by renowned composers Huang Fu-Tong and Qu Wenzhong. A 150-strong choir did justice to these masters with its sublime and powerful sound, and brought diverse musical styles together under one hall. |
