〈羔羊經〉（Agnus Dei）為彌撒經文（The Order of Mass）中慣常出現的篇章。2016年，史坦霍普受阿得萊德室內歌手（Adelaide Chamber Singers）委託創作一首合唱曲，用以紀念團裡英年早逝的男低音歌手提莫西．馬克斯（Timothy Marks，1971-2016）。史坦霍普將同樣具有悼念、祝禱涵義的〈羔羊經〉，與英語詩歌〈別站在我墓前哭泣〉（Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep）拼貼合組，譜寫為無伴奏四部混聲合唱《羔羊經－別站在我墓前哭泣》。作品完成同年，在南澳首府阿得萊德的聖彼得大教堂（St. Peter's Cathedral），由阿得萊德室內歌手首演。

 

〈別站在我墓前哭泣〉為英語世界廣為流傳的詩歌，出自何人手筆歷來眾說紛紜，直至1998年，才證實為一位籍籍無名的家庭主婦瑪莉．伊莉莎白．懷俄於1932年所作。詩句淺白卻情感真摯，常於追思場合誦讀。日本作家新井滿（Man Arai，b. 1946）亦在2003年將此詩編譯為日語版本，並譜成歌曲〈化作千風萬縷〉（千の風になって）。

 

透過無伴奏合唱，史坦霍普在《羔羊經－別站在我墓前哭泣》一曲中，充分運用人聲的純淨特質，凝聚出緬懷，卻不過度哀傷的情緒。
