When in the eastern skies
The wondrous star did rise

向馬利亞懷中的
聖嬰孩致意。
布穀鳥和鵪鶉
飛越丘陵和山谷
競相獻上崇拜。
貓頭鷹眼矇矓
四射的光芒令他目眩，
令他朝家鄉飛去。
 

這首＜白鳥之歌＞原名為El Cant Dels Ocells, 是傳統的西班牙民謠，作曲者不詳，但這首曲子之所以廣為人知，得歸功於著名的西班牙大提琴家帕伯洛．卡薩爾斯(Pau Casals,1876-1973) 所灌錄的大提琴專輯。＜白鳥之歌＞中帶有些許哀戚與惆悵的曲調，也被視為遠離家園多年的卡薩爾斯心境的寫照，然而在這份感傷中，卻仍因擁有自由而感到自在。
