Couldn’t tell dark from daylight,
Couldn’t see where I’d been,
Couldn’t tell night from morning,
Lord, such a stage that I was in,
Couldn’t see for the shadow,
Couldn’t see for the pride,
I’m so glad I crossed over to the other side,
Like the break of day.

Couldn’t tell top from bottom,
Couldn’t tell left from right,
Couldn’t tell signs of blindness,
Lord, from the precious in your sight,
Couldn’t tell I was falling,
Faster that you please
Down straight on down, until I bent my knees,
Now when mid-night falls upon me
I just raise my head and say:
Lord it feels like the break of day.

Didn’t go to the river,
Didn’t go to the best,
Didn’t go to the humble inn where a soul can find its rest,
Didn’t pay heed to angels warning where I was at,
I’m so glad I got over that
Like the break of day 
 

無法區分黑夜與白晝，
看不清我身在何處，
不能分辨夜晚和清晨， 
主啊，我在這樣一個陰暗不明的地方，
在黑暗中我看不見，在驕傲中我認不清，
但我現在很開心，因為我已跨過了那道障礙，
就像天已破曉一樣。

無法區分是在頂端還是底下，
也分辨不清左右，
不能看出那愚昧的徵兆，
主啊，從你充滿珍愛的眼中，
我竟不知道我已失落，
跌落的速度比得到你的喜悅還快，
不停地墜落下去，直到我謙卑地跪下，

當夜幕臨到我，我只能抬起頭說：
「主啊！那感覺就像破曉時撕裂一般，」

不曾到那河畔邊(被潔靜)，
也不曾去過那最好的地方，
不曾到過那靈魂可得到休憩的卑微角落，
不曾注意過天使們對我的警告和提醒，
如今我慶幸我總算度過了難關，
就像天已破曉一般。
