美國當代作曲家Samuel Barber(1910-1981)，幼時即顯現獨特音樂天賦，12歲即是著名的管風琴家，20歲完成三首管弦樂作品。Barber的作品呈現多樣色彩，張力的音樂性扣人心弦，活潑的動機串連卻換來無比的幻想空間，有著管風琴的特質，但卻時時刻表現出豐富的力量。
