Old Mister Johnson had troubles of his own.

He had a yellow cat who wouldn’t leave its home.

He tried and he tried to give the cat away.

He gave it to a man who was going far away.

But the cat came back the very next day.

The cat came back.

They thought he was a goner,

but the cat came back.

He just wouldn’t stay away.

He gave it to a man who was going out west,

told him to take it to the one he loved best.

First the train hit a curve,

then it jumped the rail;

not a soul was left behind to tell the gruesome tale.

Away across the ocean they sent the cat at last.

The vessel only out a day and taking water fast.

People all began to pray,

the boat began to toss,

A great big gust of wind came by,

and ev’ry soul was lost.

The cat was a possessor of a fam’ly of its own,

With seven little kittens,

until a cyclone blew the houses down,

and tossed the cat around.

The air was full of kittens and not a one was found.

The cat came back!

老強森先生遇到麻煩。

他有一隻不會離開家的黃貓。

他試過，他試圖把貓趕走。

告訴他把貓交給他最喜歡的人。

首先，火車撞上彎道，

然後火車出軌；

沒有靈魂留下來講可怕的故事。

橫渡大海，他們最後送走貓。

這艘船才開一天並且下水快速。

人們開始祈禱，

船開始上下搖動，

一陣巨大的風吹來，

每個靈魂都迷失了。

這隻貓有了自己的家庭，

有七隻小貓，

直到龍捲風吹倒房屋，

然後把貓吹到半空中。

空氣中滿是小貓，沒有一隻小貓活著。

那隻貓回來了！
