戴利(Eleanor Daley, b.1955)，出生於加拿大安大略省，畢業於皇后大學(Queens University)，是知名的作曲家、唱詩班指揮、合唱伴奏，同時也是位臨床醫師。自1982以來擔任費爾勞恩大道聯合教堂(Fairlawn Avenue United Church) 

音樂總監，她是一位多產的作曲家，出版了超過140件合唱作品，其最著名的作品首推玫瑰三部曲和安魂曲 (Requiem)，其安魂曲並在1994年獲得了加拿大年度最佳合唱作曲獎，《In Remembrance》正是選自裡面的一首。她在音樂旋律上有非凡的天賦，能敏銳的將歌詞與音樂結合在一起。

本曲歌詞作者為弗萊(Mary Elizabeth Frye, 1905-2004)，1932年住在巴爾的摩時，為悼念母親而譜寫的一首詩，動人的描述死者如何安慰失去愛人的生者。戴利巧妙的讓各聲部在旋律中穿梭，寫出了極具感染力的曲子，每每在結束後留給聽者無比的祥和之感。
