Now it is dusky,

And the hermit thrush

And the black and white warbler

Are singing and answering together.

There is a sweetness in the tree,

And fireflies are counting the leaves.

I like this country,

The gulls swinging and calling,

And the foamy towers of the waves.

夜幕低垂，

那隱士夜鶇

以及黑色和白色的鳴禽

正一起唱和著。

在樹梢上有著悅耳的聲響，

螢火蟲也在數算著樹葉。

我愛這田園景色，

我愛這裡的一切，

但我無法忘懷夢中那片大海，

海鷗在空中飛舞著、鳴叫著，

海浪豎起如泡沫般的浪花。
