There’s snow on the fields,

and cold in the cottage,

while I sit in the chimney-nook supping hot cottage.

My clothes are soft and warm,

fold upon fold,

but I am so sorry for the poor

Out in the cold.

 

田野上有積雪， 

在小屋裡覺得冷， 

我坐在煙囪角落裡喝熱的濃湯。 

我的衣服柔軟溫暖， 

層層堆疊， 

但我為窮人感到遺憾
