如水的夜色，潤澤了你靈魂的淺灘各處

 

1995年二月，韋塔克受Dale Warland Singers(2010年獲得ACDA終身成就獎的合唱作曲家及指揮Dale Warland所創立的)委託，以及感謝鼓勵他繼續完成學業並朝專業藝術家發展的良師益友Dr. Bruce Mayhall所作的曲子，選用拉丁美洲詩人歐塔維歐．帕茲(Octavio Paz,1914-1998)的詩，韋塔克形容用到帕茲的詩，可以說是作曲家的夢想，音樂似乎會自己開展，與其說是作曲，更像是清理老舊畫布上的油汙，將隱藏在其中的音樂顯露出來。第一次閱讀此詩，緊密的和聲及耐心的開展就像從其中傾洩出來，儘管翻譯成英文演唱，那份神奇依舊不變。Water Night純粹是這首美麗的詩，自然的音樂表達。音樂的聲響彷彿就是詩的一部分。
