To Mercy, Pity,

Peace and Love All pray in their distress,

And to these virtues of delight 

Return their thankfulness.

 

For Mercy, Pity,

Peace and Love Is God our father dear,

And Mercy, Pity,

Peace and Love Is Man his child and care,

Is Man his child and care,

 

For Mercy has a human heart,

Pity a human face, a human face,

And Love, the human form divine,

And Peace, the human dress.

Then every man of every clime

That prays in his distress,

Prays to the human form divine:

Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace.

 

And all must love the human form,

In heathen, Turk or Jew.

Where Mercy, Love and Pity dwell,

There God is dwelling too.

 

受難的人個個祈求

愛、仁慈、憐憫、和平，

對這些可喜的美德

報答他們的感激之情。

 

愛、仁慈、憐憫、和平，

原是上帝，我們親愛的父親，

又是人，上帝的孩子和親人。

 

原來仁慈有一顆人心，

憐憫有一張人的臉蛋，

愛有一副神聖的人形，

和平有一身人的衣衫。

在四面八方祈求的

所有一切受難的人們，

都向那神聖的人形祈求

愛、仁慈、憐憫、和平。

 

人人都是愛這個人的形象，

不管它是異教徒，回教徒，猶太人；

哪兒有仁慈、愛和憐憫，

哪兒就有上帝和神。
