Behold a newborn babe

Behold a newborn babe,

in freezing winter night,

In lowly manager:

what a wondrous sight.

For lo,

the inn is full;

no man will yield a bed,

And so,

He has no crib to lay His head.

But do not scorn this baby,

For He is Christ the King,

And wise men come to see Him,

their rev’rent homage bring.

A donkey stands beside Him,

and oxen graze nearby.

His mother Mary sings a lullaby.

His father’s coat tattered;

He wears it like a shawl.

The baby lies in lowly manager stall.

The manager is His palace,

and heav’nly angles sing:

Hosana in the highest!

Good will to all the earth!

Proclaim the joy of Jesus’ holy birth.

He is our King!

 

瞧那新生兒

在一個天寒地凍的夜裡

誕生在那卑微的馬槽中

是多麼令人驚奇的景象

由於呀

客棧已客滿

沒人願意讓出床位

因此呀

祂沒有搖籃可躺臥

但別奚落這新生兒

因祂可是基督君王

智者前來向祂朝聖

帶上他們虔誠奉獻

驢子站在祂的身旁

牛群在不遠處吃草

母親瑪莉亞唱著催眠曲

父親的斗篷雖破爛不堪

仍像披巾一般將祂包覆

誕生在卑微馬槽的新生兒

馬槽便是祂的宮殿

天使們齊唱著：

榮耀在那至高處！

善意遍佈大地！

讚揚耶穌誕生的喜悅！

祂是我們的君王！
