Now let us hear what Israel Hath said:

For if the Lord had not been on our side,

If His great pow’r and wisdom had not led,

When men attacked us, by their anger fed,

Our lives to end, our honor to deride.

Then would our enemies have loosed the flood of their wild hordes against weakened will;

Their torrent would have swept down where we stood.

But,hear ye now, how victory was ours;

God gave us pow’r, He did uphold us still.

Blessed is He! revered our God shall be.

He is the master of the sea and sky.

We have escaped from out the fowler’s snare,

Praise be to Him who lives eternally:

Lord of the earth who reigns e’en now on high.

 

Or oeut beun dire Israel maintenant,

Si le Seigneur pour nous n’eust point est té,

Si le Seigneur nostre droit n’eust porté,

Quand tout le monde à grand’fureur venant Pour nous meurtrir,

dessus nous s’est jetté.

Pieça fussions vifs devore’s par eux,

Veus la fureur ardente des pervers :

Pieça fussions sous les eaux à l’envers,

Et tout ainsi qu’on flot impetueux

Nous eussent tous a bysmez et couvers.

Comme l’oiseau du filé se deffait De l’oiseleur,

nous sommes eschappez,

Rompant le laqs qui nous eust attrappez :

Voila comment le grand Dieu qui a fait Et terre et ciel,

nous a desvelloppez.

 

請聽以色列人說的話

若不是耶和華幫助我們

若不是耶和華施展權柄智慧

當眾人起來攻擊我們、向我們發怒

就要殺害並辱罵我們

敵人的千軍萬馬令我們聞風喪膽

敵人的怒濤令我們覆沒

但請聽，我們依然得勝

耶和華依其權柄，保我們周全

我們當讚頌祂，當敬拜耶和華

海洋與蒼穹都歸於祂

我們從捕鳥人的網羅裡逃脫

當讚頌永世真神

全地之主，至高公正的耶和華
