值得一唱再唱的聖誕合唱曲

聖誕頌歌（Carol；Noel）本來是指中世紀一種帶有伴奏和歌唱的圓圈舞蹈，流傳至今，頌讚基督降生的節慶，也由神聖的頌歌發展為各種喜慶性質的頌歌。十九世紀以後，在美國加以商業化的包裝，聖誕頌歌漸漸成為一種與特定宗教節慶主題相結合的流行歌謠；至今，許多作曲家也創作聖誕歌曲或是改編古老聖誕歌謠，例如：〈聖誕老人進城來了〉、〈白色聖誕節〉、〈小鼓童〉、〈銀色鐘聲〉、〈普世歡騰〉，以及各種〈萬福馬利亞〉等，都是人人耳熟能詳的聖誕歌曲，這些作品都有許多不同的改編版本，值得大家一唱再唱。
面對如此多的聖誕合唱曲，真是讓人眼花撩亂！應該如何選擇呢？筆者提供大家一些著名的聖誕合唱曲目，依其不同性質加以分類，供大家選曲時參考。

另外值得介紹的是，美國合唱樂譜出版社earthsongs在近年發行《Music for the holidays》的合唱專輯，此專輯收集了拉脫維亞（Latvia）、法國（French）、英國（England）、肯亞（Kenyan）以及美國等國家的聖誕合唱曲，同時還有特別歌頌聖誕夜與編給兒童的曲目。除了發行CD，Earthsongs同時也發行這些曲目的合唱曲譜，極具參考價值。
